a simple take

For the past few days I was able to share with you some layouts that I made using My Scrapbook Nook's April kit featuring Echo Park's For the Record collection. Most of these layouts were very detailed with lots of layering and components. Here are the links for those layout: You are Special and Life Note.

This time around, I was able to create a very simple layout that I finished in less than an hour.

What I love about this layout is despite the simplicity of the design, I was able to capture the feel that I wanted. The photo made everything work. And the small details are just right.

Happy weekend everyone!!!

Lifting

At Scrapbook Circle, we pay tribute to the members by simply lifting their gorgeous work twice a month. I was assigned to lift Debbie's layout submitted on our Facebook Fan page. Here is her layout:

Inspired by the design elements and color, I was able to create this simple layout using mostly the Printable file that came with the Hello Sunshine kit:

another Echo Park layout

Happy Easter everyone!!!

Just a quick post for today. Here is a layout inspired by Susan C's "April Showers Brings May Flowers" layout. She is our Nook member spotlight for April. You can see it here.

I have used the gorgeous Nook April kit on this page. I used most of the elements from it, patterned papers, yellow inkpad, flowers and stickers.

Like from Susan's layout, I splattered paint randomly on my white background.

The butterfly images here were stamps that I won way back. Sorry, I can't recall the brand but this is one of my favorite butterfly stamps.

The alpha sticker set that came with the kit also gave variety since there were a total of 4 designs to choose from. I decided to use each of the 4 design and played with my journaling and title.

I did a lot of fuzzy cutting and layering on this page using different thickness of foam tape.

Thanks for dropping by!

Having fun with mists and stamps

Lately I have been seeing a lot of layouts online using mists and stamps together. The uniqueness it brings on a layout is so beautiful that I decided to combine both techniques on my pages recently. Remember my recent Scrapbook Circle layout Meaningful Kiss? I have used these techniques and enjoyed it very much.

So here is another layout that I made using the new Hello Sunshine kit from Scrapbook Circle:

Stolen Moment

Last weekend at My Scrapbook Nook we welcomed Spring by hosting several challenges. My challenge was to create a layout using a "stolen shot" photograph. These include candid photos and those photos with no direct eye contact to the camera.

I have used the gorgeous April kit that features Echo Park's For the Record which is now available here

My Scrapbook Nook April Kit- Echo Park For the Record patterned papers, stickers, Maya Road butterfly chipboard, and Petaloo flowers. Others: Shimmerz Mists, Kaisercraft Clear Stamp, Lily Bee Rubons.

By the way, today we are also celebrating my baby's 3rd birthday. This day at 9:05am, I gave birth to an angel at Infant Jesus Hospital. We are so blessed to be given this opportunity to have her as our daughter,

Once Upon a Sketch

Once Upon A... Sketch has a new sketch challenge which has gone live today.

This is the new sketch and the journalling criteria

The journalling criteria for this challenge is to write the reason you chose to scrap this photo.
(e.g. to remember this moment, to remember someone, to send a message to someone, because this photo makes you smile, the photo shows a personal achievement, your child's milestone etc. etc. )

Your journalling can be any type i.e. handwritten, printed etc.. and as long as you wish it to be.

REMEMBER: If you are making a card or altered project you DO NOT need to include the journalling criteria BUT you MUST use a quote somewhere on your card or project.....

And this is my interpretation of the April 15th Challenge:
This is a fun sketch to play with. There are so much possibilities by simply flipping or rotating it. For my layout, I decided to do an 8.5x11 layout of my two best friends, my sisters

I have used Scrapbook Circle's Vintage Market kit on this collection. Everything is from the kit except for the doilies and buttons.

Family

Happy Monday everyone!!! I hope all of us had a lovely and relaxed weekend with friends and family. As for me, I took advantage of last weekend spending time with my dd and dh since I had a very busy week transitioning with my new job.

I just want to share this layout that I did using Scrapbook Circle's Vintage Market that I managed to finish last week. I love the range of patterned papers and embellishments from this kit. Definitely one of my favorite SC kit to date.

Have a productive and stress-free week everyone!

Addicted to storage BTPs

I know we have shared a lot of projects showcasing the storage BTPs from Kaisercraft. With all these amazing items to help us organize our scrappy items, who can resist it? The great thing about these BTPs is you can personalized them using your favourite collections.

Here I have used the gorgeous Chanteuse collection with those beautiful paper blooms:

Materials:  Storage Unit (SB2105), Chanteuse patterned papers – Con Brio (P637), Soprano (P642), Tremolo (P639) Staccato (P638), Flourish Vine wood flourish (FL328),  Paper Blooms Dusty Pink (F641) and Sage (F632), Sage Acrylic Paint (KC025). Others: corrugated board and leaves.

To add texture, I decided to use a corrugated board that I took from a parcel box.

Upcycle layout

Hi ladies! I hope everything is fine with you and your families. I just want to do a quick post of a layout that I did using Cosmo Cricket's new collection, UPcycle.

To create the patched strips, I used the RE:PEAT patterned paper. Using your preferred border punch, punch out several strips from a cardstock. Cover the punched areas with different patterns available from the RE:PEAT patterned paper. You'll see that the different design and colors are perfect for this patching technique

Chanteuse

Words cannot describe how beautiful this collections is. The designs and colours are just divine. This line is perfect for preserving very precious memories like this one of my dad and daughter walking hand in hand. I am not the type of scrapbooker who journals regularly, but this collection inspired me to tell the story of my dad’s love for his granddaughter. Check out the entire collection here!

‘Simply Beautiful’ layout by LG Belarmino

materials: Chanteuse Collection – Vivo patterned paper (P640), Staccato patterned paper (P638), Soprano patterned paper (P642), Marcato patterned paper (P643), Mini Journal Tags (JT616), Paper Pad (PP840) and Printed Chipboard (CB125); Alpha Stickers Tiny Latte (MA511) and Black (MA513)
Others: Paint and Kraft Cardstock

TIP: Do not be afraid to experiment. On this layout, I have used watercolour to add some paint drips on my background. Apply a good amount of watercolour at the top edge of the paper, hold the paper upright, to let the paint drip down the page. If your paper gets a little soggy, you can iron it on a  medium heat and adhere it to a cardstock.

a great collaboration

Happy Saturday ladies! Today, I would like to share with you a layout that my dd and I made yesterday when I received my Scrapbook Circle Vintage Market kit. The combination of Crate Paper's Portrait and Echo Park's For the Record was perfect.

In this layout, Hannah assisted me by distressing the edges of the doilies (yup! she knows how to use my distress inks and the distresser tools), applying adhesive and pin-pointing where to adhere the elements of this page including the border stickers.

everything is from the Vintage Market kit except for the stamps and mists

It was fun making this layout with her. Even though it took longer than usual, I enjoyed every minute of it. I love the end result and I can definitely see a future scrapbooker in her!
